What's the maximum uncrop size?
The maximum size up to which you can uncrop an image is 8192 x 8192 pixels. Even if your input photo is larger than this, it will be resized a bit to fit those limits. If that's not enough for you, you can later on Upscale the image.
What are the acceptable formats to uncrop a photo?
All major image file types are allowed. Such as JPEG, JPG, GIF, WEBP, PNG, BMP and many more. If you are unsure if your file is good for uncroping, simply try to upload it and see if it's showing up as an image in the uncrop field.
Are there images that are better for uncropping than others?
In general, if the input photo is of high quality, then the generated surroundings will usually match that quality level. If the input image is noisy and blurry, the uncropped area might be just the same to match the input photo. Photos with a lot going on are easier as the connection lines are far less visible than for example in a case with clear blue sky, where sometimes the shade of the sky might not match. That's something we will fix very soon.

Can I control what AI draws in the uncropped area?
Yes. In the Uncrop Tool, there is a text field for a prompt. You can leave it empty, then AI will fill it up automatically, after analyzing the content of an image and expanding it to new area. But if you have a specific vision, you can write your own prompt there. For example "Thick dark forest after rain" or any other description. This gives you great control over the result.
Is it possible to make an Avatar with the original face using the Uncrop Tool?
Yes. You first have to cut out the face very narrowly from the original photo, living as little elements that are not a face, as possible. Then you upload a face cut like that to the Uncrop Image AI tool. Put the head nicely somewhere on top of the uncropped area, and write a prompt, or you can copy one from our presets for avatars (see AI Generator PRO to copy text from Avatars).
